Conference Topics

The intention is to involve the whole community of road and runway safety professionals and the organisers are hoping this will be reflected in both the range and content of papers presented. The aim is to provide a forum for a holistic approach to the issue of managing safer surfaces, with the objective of producing a safer road network and safer runway surfaces.

Papers are particularly encouraged from road and runway stakeholders explaining their requirements. Favourable consideration will be given to papers that are innovative, thought provoking and discuss new developments.

Papers should cover:

  • user requirements
  • evidence of best practice from highway and runway managers
  • results of research, innovation and new techniques
  • accident analysis
  • legal issues
  • network management related to road and runway surface friction.

Below is an indicative list of topics, but the Conference Steering Committee does not wish to constrain topics that are acceptable for inclusion. The only limitation is that no paper will be accepted that purely advertises a commercial product, process or technique.
